7th Annual UNITY GARDENS PLANT SALE

The Market @ junk Evolution will be open for business First Friday and Saturday (April 5 & 6) for the 7th annual Unity Gardens Fund Raiser/Plant Sale.  However the Plant sale will only be one day Friday April 5, from 4-8 PM.   So mark your calendars!  They always have a wonderful selection of heirlooms, herbs, perennials, annuals, shrubs and sometimes trees.  Unity Gardens has a green house and they grow lots of the plants themselves but also get donations from lots of other greenhouses and plant shops.  If you aren't familiar with the Unity Gardens they are a non for profit organization that plants over 50 gardens around South Bend where people who don't have access to fresh produce can come and grow, pick and eat.  They are a volunteer based organization.  For more information on this great program click the link http://www.theunitygardens.org

We will be adding lots of outdoor garden elements to our Market, some great canvas gardening aprons, and Lots of great gift ideas for Mom (Mother's Day is May 14th!).  So come and get all your shopping done in our great neighborhood.  You'll be doing a world of good!

We have lots of great gifts for Mom (Mother's day is coming).

Handmade jewelry from Urban Mountain Traders and Vintage Twill.  If you can't make it to First Friday you can shop for handmade jewelry at Etsy Here,  and for small vintage treasures at UMT vintage

Mother May I? Newsletter

So much fun, and so little time!  It all starts at junk Evolution next Friday at 5:00 with the 4th Annual Plant Sale for the Unity Garden's.  It's their big fund raiser and you get a twofer....plants for you and you're helping to grow food for about 50 local gardens.

Inside the shop we'll be groovin to DJ Chuck Fry's fun selection of tunes, eating chips and salsa (Cinco de Mayo) and shopping the "Secret Garden," (our theme for the month) for  cottage furnishings, garden art,  garden accessories,  Mother's day gifts, vintage Derby day hats and the list goes on and on and on!

DTSB's theme is Vintage and you know we always have plenty of that!

A Big Round of Applause

Truly the best part of being in this business is the people we meet.  When you're passionate about what you do it attracts like minded souls.
We were invited to attend the Earth Day celebration at  IUSB  to celebrate our friend Myles.  As you can see he was awarded the first Student Sustainability award.  We couldn't be happier for him!
Then our friend Sarah from Unity Gardens was also presented an award for all the work they do in the community.
We felt so honored to be in the same room with all these people who truly go above and beyond their jobs to make South Bend a better place to live.
