The Green, Green Glass of Home

I hope you all enjoyed St. Paddy's day, now it's on to celebrating the Easter Season!  If you haven't been in to shop, we have some green tips posted, one I will share with you.  Instead of buying Easter grass for your Easter baskets this year, think "natural or biodegradable".  We used shredded paper from our home shredder,  clean straw-from the barn, or moss.  And as soon as it comes up,  we'll have baskets and containers of natural grass.  Once again, think of what you already have around the house, and when you are done with it, it can be used to add to a compost pile or to mulch a houseplant.

And for dyeing your Eggs, no need to buy the kits, you probably already have everything you need right in your cupboards.  Set up mugs or bowls add 1 Tablespoon of vinegar to each and fill with boiling water, add liquid food coloring, a few drops of a different color to each bowl,  and don't forget red and blue make purple and so on.  Let cool (to be safe for children to use).

APRIL 2, 2010-First Friday we will have a new theme April Shower's...

We do love things that,
bear the marks of grime,
soot, and weather, and we love colors and sheen that call to mind the past that made them.
