Mother May I? Newsletter

So much fun, and so little time!  It all starts at junk Evolution next Friday at 5:00 with the 4th Annual Plant Sale for the Unity Garden's.  It's their big fund raiser and you get a twofer....plants for you and you're helping to grow food for about 50 local gardens.

Inside the shop we'll be groovin to DJ Chuck Fry's fun selection of tunes, eating chips and salsa (Cinco de Mayo) and shopping the "Secret Garden," (our theme for the month) for  cottage furnishings, garden art,  garden accessories,  Mother's day gifts, vintage Derby day hats and the list goes on and on and on!

DTSB's theme is Vintage and you know we always have plenty of that!

Tranquility/Dixie

I just finished up this beautiful dresser and will bring it to more beautiful surroundings (the shop)on Thursday.  The color is a very light blue- green and the maker is Dixie out of South Carolina.  The wood was really very nice so I left some of it natural.  The hardware is original.   Also working on a sweet little chandi that will look great hanging right above her!

The Littles

I've said it at least once before (ha) but it's the smallest of things that seem to sometime pull everything together (a simple accessory or a simple act of kindness for that matter).  These could be used in your home or wedding.

Up Close and Personal

We're having lots of fun with our Wedding Theme, and our decor will be perfect for the wedding shower we are hosting in the shop next weekend for a couple of friends who met at junk Evolution on a First Friday!  Love and First site :)  Tis the season!  I helped my daughter and her mother in law set up a  tea party shower yesterday, I love party planning!   You just have to have fun with it and think about fun items that you already have, and only buy items that you will use again or that you can give to the couple for a gift.
Now for some random pic's of fun items at the shop this week.

A wonderful Buffet with a glass top for serving.  We love to use them
as bars, dressers, entry pieces or kitchen islands.

Fresh from the workshop

Set includes a table with 2 small leaves, pads and 6 chairs

We had all these dishes in the shop already, but by adding
a fun table cloth it pulled them all together.

This would be a great guest book table
then a bedside table or a patio table...

Accessories for your bridal party

Add flowers to the seat and table assignments to the back
For the Bride

and they lived happily ever after...
