An Invititation

Reflections

November in Indiana with our frigid temperature's need not get you down.  With the help of the right ambiance your house will glow with a warm inviting feel to any passerby’s.  So, bring out the woolen blankets and throw them over a chair, place some candles around the room (and light them please!) and snuggle in for the joy of it all.  It’s the time to relax, give thanks, and remember those that are dear to us.
If you have plans to travel to the Windy City then by all means adorn yourself with the warmth of a vintage coat.  We have all kinds.  They’ll make you feel like a million bucks!  And to add to the fun of First Friday, feel free to wear yours if you already own one!
We’re also adorning our RED wall with gilded mirrors and frames.  Mirrors can add space and sparkle to a room, or a table! Lay one in the center and build your centerpiece on top for a dramatic layer.
We’ve also  invited a special guest artist Christine Tirotta featuring her restyled Vintage jewelry. Haleigh and Grace will be modeling all the vintage goodness.   The fun never ends, so please mark your calendars and join us for a glamorous time!

A little bit about us...

We're nature people.
It you truly love Nature, you will find
beauty everywhere.      -Vincent Van Gogh
We do custom work.
There is a great story that goes with this island/table and it started at our grand opening when three ladies all came into the shop at the same time and wanted to buy a repurposed island that my partner's re-furbished.  In order to make everybody happy Bernie measured, drew and built 3 more and I painted them.  This is the last one (an extra!) and it's unfinished, so the customer can choose how they would like it painted.  Wouldn't it be great with a natural oiled top and painted, distressed legs?

We're designer's .
We do it in our sleep and every waking minute..  It's who we are.
We repurpose pretty much everything.
This is a sweet bar, made from a vintage stereo.  Note to self....time to dust!
We are faux finish painters.
We love color and use it with black and white,  so don't be afraid to add it to your
decor.  This table looks great in a red dining room.  We can paint your furniture for you as well.
We sell anything but junk.
Beauty is not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart.  ~Kahlil Gibran

Tablescaping

For Linda and I setting a great table is like playing.  We both have a thing for dishes so it's great
when you get to break them out and use them.

Sometimes simple is best.  Our high is the Lenox china in the wheat pattern, paired with a hefty beer mug on a rustic farm table.  Our low-straw seating!   A collection of vintage linen towels serve as a large napkin.

This mid century modern dish set mixed with the formal silver chargers and bowls, and simple black mugs also makes for a fun setting.

And I love the warmth that wood offers, especially in the Autumn. Bottom Line is-just have fun with it, play around and don't worry about it.  Your guests will see that the effort was made and it will be appreciate.

All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better.

Serious Fun

I love to have a beautiful home, but the special little touches that make you look twice, and might invoke a chuckle are the images that guests will remember.  I got this little guy in Colorado, the day I rode the zip line across the CO river.  I guess that's kinda how I felt.  I suppose he's singing, but I nick named him "The Screamer".  If he's still around at Christmas, he'll wear a hat and scarf.
It started out like a scream, them went to the lip biting!

We're being invaded by fun everywhere you look!  I'm hanging one of these on my porch for  the trick or treater's.
These legs went to live with a customer who travels here for work quite often and always stops in.  And guess where she lives....Kansas City!

Gratitude

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life.  It turns what we have into enough, and more.  It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity:  it can turn a  meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.  Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today; and creates a vision for tomorrow.
Melody Beattie

There is a calmness to a life lived in Gratitude, a quiet joy.
-RALPH H. BLUM
God has two dwellings: one in heaven, and the other in a meek and thankful heart.
-IZAAK WALTON
Gratitude is a twofold love-love coming to visit us, and love running out to greet a welcome guest.
-HENRY VAN DYKE
Just to be is a blessing.  Just to live is holy.

You only live once- but if you work it right, once is enough.
-JOE E. LEWIS

After a First Friday and all the hectic chaos of getting ready, the piles, the mess, the last minute jitter's of not being ready on time...you always make it all worth it.  I'm always speechless (and you know that doesn't happen much!)  You make me realize that I love every single minute of it, and we thank you once again from the bottom of our hearts.
