From our Home to Yours...

A Very Merry Christmas!

I didn't do much in the way of decorating this year, and my inspiration came from the usual source NATURE, a pine tree that was planted to close to the garage and needed to come down.  The top of the tree is our Christmas tree, and the rest of the greens were used all around the house and shop.   I didn't spend any money to decorate, just used what I had.

This wreath is made with a very old Christmas tree stand with a
big screw in the middle that I capped with an ornamental ball.

A little candle tray to welcome visitors

I used greenery in existing containers.

on the side of our garage

On the front porch I used a pallet of silver, white and red

I didn't use a lot of lights so I used something
unusual and covered it with white lights.

A red tin with holly from my yard.

This is my Nativity Scene in the foyer.

I dug out my children's nutcracker collection for a fun mantel,
and added one of my grandfathers cannons.  I buy
outside lights on summer clearance to use at Christmas time.
They last a very long time.

My Charlie Brown tree, with a few birds and snowflake
ornaments.

In the face of ferocious hatred, believe in the possibility that there exists the potential for
equally as big, intense, lovely and fiery ferocious LOVE.   -kate swoboda

Kizer House Room

Linda and I were honored to be a part of the Indiana Landmarks Historical Holiday walk on Washington Street.  We decorated a room at the "castle house".  But the best part of the weekend was going on the tour that showcased private homes, and hearing their stories.  Such a talented and gracious lot of people.

Our room was a botanical theme in the second parlor.  Here's a glimpse...

The items are for sale but won't be in the store until March, so please call if you are interested.

A Big FAT Thank you!

Such an outpouring of support today for Small business Saturday.  Wow, we are just overwhelmed.  Thank you all so much!  We really do appreciate you all.

Also we have to give Ignite Michiana a big round of applause for spreading the love all around town.  I'm so thankful to be amongst this awesome group of people in South Bend. These peeps are movers and shakers.  They don't get paid to promote they do it because they love their community.  My heart is so full.

Also thanks to our dear friend Hiromi who is always willing to go the extra 9 yards (of fabric) for us!  You are so awesome!
I'll be posting some of the pictures on Face Book.

It's Naked!

This is our 3rd year participating in the Tree exhibit at the Center for History.  I'm only going to show you the tree before in hopes that you can visit the museum.

As you already know we love to adorn in the most unusual items and I will tell you this...  we created our ornaments from items usually found in the trash!  This one is my fav so far because it's truly rewarding when you can make something out of nothin!   So go and see if you can guess what we used.

French Style

Bernie and Linda did this beautiful mix of a high end french table in white, with some green chinoiserie chairs upholstered in some modern velvet fabric.  The table scape is a mix of vintage china and crystal, with a rust wool throw as a table cloth.  Even if the food is bad you get a feast for the eyes!
