The Creamery Antiques

                               the bed and nightstand-SOLD
We just added, subtracted and spruced up at our booth at the The Old Creamery, in Middlebury, IN.  So come and check it out.

We're also gearing up for our new location in South Bend, 528 E. Colfax.  Our grand opening is March 5th from 5-8pm and we will have a guest chef from the Victorian Pantry serving desserts!  So it will be worth your wile just coming for that little treat.
Since St. Paddy's day is in March, and being in the same town as Notre Dame, home of the fighting Irish,  we should fit right in being green and such!

Words & Pictures

Right now I'm reading the book,  Eat Pray Love, by Elizabeth Gilbert.  While she is searching for herself in the book someone asks her what her word would be.    Someone gave me my word for my birthday this year.

My dear friends, and partners Linda and Bernie gave me the sweetest gifts,  most were found treasures near and dear to my heart but the most enlightening gift was a small book called Wabi Sabi.  When I opened it, I asked Linda what it was and she exclaimed, "It's you!"   Wabi Sabi is actually a lot of things, or should I say thoughts about the way you see things...impermanence, imperfection, simplicity, humility, sincerity, harmony, purity, tranquility, and contentment.  It's about loving something for all it's flaws and imperfections.  Changing things as the seasons change.  Seeing beauty in everything.  I know I have a ways to go but I do love the thought of it all, and will strive to get there.   Thank you again, that's about the nicest thing anyone has ever said.   So hopefully, with that little bit of information it will help you to understand our whole style of decorating.   Because sometimes the simplest things can be beautiful if put on a pedestal.

And now (drum roll please)  more pictures of the Details, by Shannan (Flower Patch Farm girl)

The Details

Linda and I do go to great lengths to find just the right accessories to go with the furniture that we refurbish, and we continue to move them until they fit perfectly into a vignette.  When I take a photo, I try to get it all in one picture.  That's why I invited Shannan (aka-Flower Patch Farm Girl) to come early and take photo's.  She has an eye for the details.  The details that we painstakingly place, but somehow forget to capture for you.  These are all from last weekend's French Market-Valentine Bash in South Bend.

and here she is, the infamous Flower Patch Farm Girl herself.  She's not only lovely and talented but she is a sweetheart.  Check out her blog and you'll be hooked.

and we thank her from the bottom of our hearts!

Love Fest

I just want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for coming and supporting our new endeavor.  When you love what you do and people support it,  it's the best feeling in the world.

Friday evening, as you can see we had a full house.

People came, shopped, lingered and enjoyed.

My son Weston helped serve chocolate truffles, and Shannon (Flower Patch Farm Girl) came and took a million pictures, so stay tuned, they will be posted very soon.

My imperfections and failures are as much a blessing from God as my successes and my talents and I lay them both at his feet.

French Market~Valentines Bash

I wanted to post some photo's of the shop for you but my photo icon is missing for some reason, I'll try my best to paint the picture for you! First off we had the pleasure of meeting Heidi Prescott from the South Bend Tribune yesterday. She interviewed Linda and I and it will be in the  paper and online, sometime this weekend, with plenty of photo's of the shop. Secondly the pink background is going to change after Valentines Day along with the wall color of our new shop. Yes, that's right, we will take up permanent residence and will have our Grand opening on March 5 at 5:00 PM, part of the First Friday celebration.

If you follow Junk Evolution then you will know that the displays in South Bend are all new, we have been working very hard to create a plethora of new furniture items, in which many can be used in more than one way. If we sell lots of things on Friday, we will restock with new. So you may want to come back on Saturday! We left lots of room for the shoppers for easy browsing and mingling and today we are busy baking goodies to entice the taste buds. Hopefully all your senses will be filled with love! And if we don't get to see you this weekend Have a wonderfully romantic Valentines Day!
