On the way to a clients home on a rainy Sunday I couldn't resist taking a few pictures on this Michigan, county road.
As a designer, decorator, landscaper type person I can never resist the beauty that is all around us.
Like the mile long row of tall pines down a county road. It kinda takes my breath away. Makes me
wish I knew more about the person that planted these trees.
Then there was this gem. Yes, I'm one of those people who slows down to gawk when I see something
like this. What a wonderful structure...Did it start out as one house, and then they added another one? Wouldn't you love to see her all fixed up and in her glory?
I think it goes way back to when I was little and my dad started buying houses to fix up and rent or sell. I saw the transformation, and loved it. That's when I knew what I wanted to do when I grew up. I didn't just want to decorate, I wanted to create space, learn how to build, lay stone, hang the drywall etc...and I did. It started with my bedroom furniture when I was in high school. I stripped the paint and lovingly refinished the wood. Then after college I wanted to put into practice what I learned, and go even deeper into the get your hands dirty department,( if you've ever seen my hands then you'll know they're well used-not designer hands.)
The second home that we bought was an old 6 bedroom Amish house, so I'm well aware of the work and money it takes to refurbish a home like this, but a girl can still dream.
In your dream invite me over I want to see inside too. Love this post!
