snippets of my life

Oh how I love spring, when everyday there is a new miracle waiting to be discovered!  Right now the columbines are blooming in my shade garden.
My all time favorite planter happens to be this beautiful, big, old tree.  It has lots of nooks and crannies to tuck flowers.
You can't see the pansies very well yet but hopefully they will fill out.  I usually plant impatiens, so we'll see.
Peach iris and catnip.
The addition to my flower bed, looks sad right now.

Sneak Peek

It's Memorial Day (but it sure feels like Labor Day!!!)  We (my sweet husband Ed and I) worked on all my projects.  So here is a glimpse of things to come.
This is my new favorite color!  It's so summery and French.  This is a small armoire, it would look great for a baby's room or a young lady.  I'm doing lots of small accessories to match.

This started out a brown gun cabinet, but will end up a china hutch.  It's antiqued white with the Aquarium color on the inside.  We are working on the shelving now.

This sweet little greenhouse is made from recycled windows and a grain separator for the roof!  All it needs is a glass shelf and a few plants.

Stop in at Accent's to see our retro collection, and at The Creamery for a few summer pick me ups!

June 5th we will be in South Bend at Circa Arts for First Friday with all kinds of new things.

Interior Design

My first love is and always will be Interior Design.  I guess you can say, that's what started the ball rolling.  So when ever I get a chance to make a lasting impression on a wall or a family, I will stand up to the challenge.  Last fall I refurbished  a home in Goshen.  My client never got to personalize their home when they bought it, so they put me to the task.  The home was on the river and a rustic/modern style.  It was very light and cold.  The bath room below is the before photo and above is after a faux finish technique.  The color is rich and makes her art collection really stand out.
This is a photo of the very dated wall covering before...
And a woven grass cloth after.  The rich colors and natural feel gave it such an inviting, warm feel.   I will share a lot more photo's of this home at a later date.  The owners said they finally felt like they were home, when it was all done.  My sister and I had painted their last home with a warm wash and they loved the versatility and warmth it brought into their home.  Plus it camouflages a multitude of sins!

JUNK HANGOVER

It's Saturday-the morning after First Friday, and we're all wiped.  We were in two locations last night and the response was great.  In fact Scott at the Gateway Wine Cellars allowed us to leave our displays in his shop until next Wednesday, so if you didn't make it last night there is still time.   This is one of the fun items that you'll see.  The before picture is actually at the bottom, and the inside is lined with cork, so you can put books or barware inside.  I didn't even get a chance to take pictures last night.

Today I am on my way to Circa Arts in South Bend for the Spring Walk.  We now have a display at Circa as well.  Circa Arts is a wonderful shop full of artistic talent.  We are going to be at that location for the next First Friday, June 5.
